Who We Are
Dhaka Legal Practice is a multidisciplinary law firm based in Dhaka, Bangladesh, providing legal representation, advisory services, and dispute resolution support to individuals, businesses, financial institutions, and organisations.
Led by Barrister Jyotirmoy Barua, Head of Chamber and Advocate of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, the firm combines professional legal knowledge, practical experience, and a commitment to the highest standards of legal ethics.
Our practice encompasses a broad range of legal matters, including constitutional law, corporate and commercial disputes, civil and criminal litigation, banking and financial law, family law, property disputes, employment matters, intellectual property, arbitration, and public interest litigation.
We recognise that every legal matter presents its own challenges. Whether advising an individual on a personal legal issue or assisting an organisation with a complex commercial dispute, our approach is grounded in careful assessment, responsible advice, and professional diligence.
At Dhaka Legal Practice, we believe that effective legal representation begins with understanding our clients, respecting their concerns, and identifying practical solutions within the framework of the law.
Our Philosophy
The Practice of Law Is a Responsibility Built on Trust.
The relationship between a lawyer and a client requires more than technical legal knowledge. It demands honesty, confidentiality, sound judgment, careful preparation, and professional accountability.
We place particular importance on understanding the circumstances of each matter before recommending a course of action.
Rather than adopting a uniform approach, we examine the relevant facts, supporting documents, applicable laws, and available legal remedies to determine an appropriate strategy.
Our objective is to provide clients with realistic legal assessments, clear communication, and responsible representation throughout the legal process.
We believe that maintaining professional integrity is just as important as pursuing a favourable legal outcome.
Our Vision
To contribute to a legal environment where professional integrity, the rule of law, and access to justice remain central to the delivery of legal services.
We envision a legal practice in which individuals and institutions can seek dependable legal advice, understand their rights and obligations, and approach the justice system with greater confidence.
Through responsible legal representation, professional development, and engagement with issues of public importance, we aspire to contribute to the strengthening of legal institutions and constitutional values in Bangladesh.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide effective, ethical, and commercially realistic legal services tailored to the circumstances and needs of each client.
We seek to:
- Deliver well-researched legal advice and professional representation.
- Maintain high standards of integrity, confidentiality, and due diligence.
- Protect the lawful rights and interests of our clients.
- Assist individuals and organisations in understanding their legal options.
- Pursue practical and proportionate approaches to dispute resolution.
- Encourage legal awareness and respect for constitutional rights.
- Contribute to access to justice through responsible professional engagement.
